Ceramicist Alex Scott returns to his childhood
roots in Lisburn, reflecting on the last 50 years
of his practice through 70 handmade objects.
From his early work at the Ulster College
of Art and Design; prize winning objects in
clay and glass from the Royal College of Art;
London in the early 70s; through to ceramic
production ware for Donegal Pottery.
Recent work has evolved from residencies
in China and been created in his Coleraine
studio. This show celebrates a continuing love
of craft, industrial production techniques and
an orientalist, formalist approach to sculptural
forms that is realised with charm and wit.
