World-Renowned New Orleans Jazz Musician Gregory Agid, Currently Touring with Michael Bublé, to Perform and Work with Young Musicians in Lisburn

ISLAND Arts Centre, in partnership with The Wallace High School, is delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed jazz clarinettist and saxophonist Gregory Agid from New Orleans, Louisiana, for a special day of music education and performance on Wednesday 24 June 2026.

Currently touring with global superstar Michael Bublé, Gregory has set aside time during his visit to Ireland to work directly with young musicians in Lisburn, providing a rare opportunity to learn from a performer appearing on some of the world’s most prestigious stages.

Supported by Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s ISLAND Arts Centre, the initiative will provide aspiring musicians with invaluable insight into jazz performance, improvisation and musicianship from one of the genre’s most respected contemporary artists.

As part of the visit, Gregory will deliver two free jazz workshops in the Music Department at The Wallace High School, where students will have the opportunity to learn directly from a musician whose career has taken him around the world and who continues to perform at the highest level internationally.

The day will culminate in a special public showcase at 7.30pm in the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum, where workshop participants will perform alongside Gregory in a celebration of musical talent, creativity and collaboration. Set within one of the city’s most distinctive heritage venues, the event promises an unforgettable evening of live jazz for audiences of all ages.
