Storyline.
As an ancient threat endangers both Vikings and dragons alike on the isle of Berk, the friendship between Hiccup, an inventive Viking, and Toothless, a Night Fury dragon, becomes the key to both species forging a new future together.
‘How to Train Your Dragon’ is a faithful and visually impressive adaptation, with many praising the CGI, especially the dragons, and the performances of the cast, particularly Gerard Butler as Stoick. The film is often commended for its emotional depth and the preservation of the original’s themes and spirit. However, some reviewers express disappointment with certain casting choices and the lack of innovation compared to the original animated film. Despite this, the film is generally regarded as one of the better live-action remakes, with many reviewers appreciating its respect for the source material and its ability to evoke nostalgia. The overall sentiment is positive, with many reviewers recommending it as a must-watch for fans of the original and newcomers alike.
