Sophie Aghajanian RUA lives and works in Belfast. Born in Haifa (of Armenian extraction), Sophie studied at Ravensbourne College of Art, London, and Brighton College of Art. She has exhibited in group and one person exhibitions in Ireland and abroad and has represented Ireland in several International exhibitions and biennales.

Commissions include the National Self Portrait Collection, the “Great Book of Ireland”, “The Holy Show” and “Garden of Earthly Delights” exhibitions for the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin. Her work is held in many private, public and museum collections in Ireland and abroad, including the Arts Council of N. Ireland, Ulster Museum, Department of the Environment, Bank of Ireland, AIB, Musée Les Abattoirs, Toulouse and the Bank Nationale de Paris.
