Visual artist Millie Moore utilised a variety of media in the process of creating work for this exhibition.
Grounded explores themes of migration and humanity. It draws attention to and compassion for the plight of displaced people. It forms a dialogue between man, movement and place investigated through paint, sculpture and textiles.
Describing herself as a walker, gatherer Millie often returns from her forays with pockets full of treasure. Marine debris gathered from the shoreline or wild plants to extract dyes from.
Finding remnants of red brick among pebbles on Murlough beach one day opened up a myriad of questions which demanded investigation. This in turn became the impetus for Grounded.
