Oil painting

Robert Ellison    07.05.20 - 14.05.20

Artist Bio and Statement:

Robert Ellison sees each of his paintings as a wordless poem in which paint marks, colours and textures should cohere or clash with sufficient energy and rhythm to say something about his environment. To this end he uses oil or acrylic paint applied by knife or brush to create landscapes, still lifes and figurative works, finding particular inspiration in unusual aspects of the manmade or natural world.

Ellison has exhibited widely, his work is held in private, corporate and governmental collections and prizes include his still lifes taking first, second, third and fourth places in their category of the American Art Awards 2016 (an international competition juried by 25 museums and galleries across the United States).
