Chair of Leisure and Community Wellbeing, Councillor Tim Mitchell Celebrates Summer Creativity, with More Family Fun on the Horizon at ISLAND Arts Centre!
July 30, 2025
ISLAND Arts Centre has been absolutely buzzing with creativity this summer! Our Chair of Leisure and Community Wellbeing, Councillor Tim Mitchell experienced the vibrant atmosphere of our ‘Bright Ideas’ Children’s Arts Festival today. He was clearly delighted to see young imaginations in full flight – rooms alive with happy chatter, focused energy, and the unmistakable sound of kids completely absorbed in the joy of making and discovering.
This year’s ‘Bright Ideas’ festival, which runs until Fri 15 Aug, has been an incredible success – so much so that every place for 5 to 16-year-olds was completely snapped up! From inventing robots and learning circus tricks to creating colourful street art, children are having a fantastic time, discovering new talents and making amazing summer memories.
Experiencing the fun of the festival firsthand, Councillor Mitchell commented, “It’s been genuinely inspiring to witness the boundless creativity and sheer enthusiasm of our young people at the ‘Bright Ideas’ festival. The incredible demand for these experiences truly shows how much local families cherish opportunities for their children to explore the arts. We’re fully committed to building on this, ensuring ISLAND Arts Centre continues to be a welcoming place where families can learn, grow, and create together throughout the year.”
Your Family’s Next Arty Adventure Starts Soon!
