Community Grant Schemes

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is delighted to offer two funding opportunities for local community/voluntary groups: the Community Support Grant and the Community Festivals Fund.

These can be applied for online by 12 noon on Monday 21st February at https://www.lisburncastlereagh.gov.uk/resident/community-services/community-grants

Councillor Sharon Skillen, Leisure & Community Development Chair, speaking about these grants said: “As a council we embrace opportunities to invest in and support our communities. Through the Community Support Grant local constituted groups can seek support and assistance to promote and implement community development related programmes. This may be to improve community relations, reduce social isolation or strengthen the sense of community at a grassroots level.

“The Community Festivals Fund offers a chance for local groups to deliver an inclusive, vibrant, imaginative and responsible programme of festival activity. In partnership with our local communities we can ensure that arts and culture remain at the core of the council’s place making agenda. So if you have an idea that you would like support for then please submit an application.”

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council also has its Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Fund open for local groups to apply for £500. This can be used to host community events and activities as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year.

The closing date for receipt of completed application forms is Monday 21st February at 12 noon.
