COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) UPDATE

COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) UPDATE

March 19, 2020

Following a special meeting of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council on 18 March 2020, it was decided, with cross-party support that the council will close its facilities to the public, with immediate effect.

ISLAND Arts Centre is now closed.
All workshops, exhibitions, events and performances will cease from Thursday 19 March 2020, for the foreseeable future.

Given we are all part of an evolving situation with new guidance being issued on a daily basis, the council has made this decision for the health and well-being of its audiences, community and voluntary groups, artists, performers and staff to play its part in stopping the spread of the coronavirus.

Refunds / Rescheduled Events

We understand you may be disappointed if you have booked to see a performance or have signed up to a workshop or class during this period. As far as is reasonably practical, we are however looking into postponing and rescheduling as many of these, as possible.

Ticket holders affected by the closure will be contacted by our Box Office team as soon as possible to offer refunds and advise of rescheduling.

Please bear with us during this time as we have a large number of customers to contact.

We will also respond to your queries as quickly as possible.

The Box Office team can be reached at T: 028 9244 7744 from 9.30am– 5pm (Monday– Friday) or via email arts.information@lisburncastlereagh.gov.uk.

Arts Service Tutors & Event Partners

The Arts Service Team will be in contact with its arts partners over the coming days as the council is keen, as far as is reasonably practical, to minimise any adverse impact, on you.

Any update to this status will be posted on this page, shared to our social media feeds, and communicated with customers via email. We would therefore be very grateful if you would please make sure your account details are up to date, so that we can properly communicate with you.

In the meantime, stay safe, look after yourself & one another.

We can’t wait to welcome you back to the ISLAND.
