Funding opportunities available for local artistic projects in the Lisburn Castlereagh area

January 20, 2023

ISLAND Arts Centre are delighted to announce that grants are now available for individual artists, arts organisations and

community groups that want to get creative and enhance the arts and culture
environment within the Lisburn & Castlereagh area.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to access funding for arts-related
activities and projects through the Arts Service of Lisburn & Castlereagh
City Council. All projects that receive support must take place in the council
area between 1st April 2023 and 31st March 2024.

Applications are now open online for financial support up to a maximum of £3,000 towards local projects. Interested parties can apply for one of our three streams before 12 noon
Friday 17th February 2023.

Arts Organisations Grants: to support the formally governed
amateur and professional arts sector in the delivery of local arts events,
projects or activities.

Community Groups: to support formally governed groups through
the ‘Making Art in Communities’ scheme for the direct delivery of local arts
events, projects or activities.

Individual Artists Grants: to support amateur and professional
artists across all art-forms to take part in an opportunity to enhance their
professional development or in the delivery of their arts events, projects or
activities.

Young Artist of the Year: to support the development of young
local artists aged 16-25 working in any art form.

Councillor Aaron McIntyre, Leisure and Community Development Chairman,
welcoming the grants said: “These grants offer local communities, organisations
and individuals the chance to create lasting, memorable and unique
community-based projects. Art is known to improve mental health and wellbeing
so it is vital we continue to support artistic activities that benefit our
communities. I look forward to hearing more about the local projects we can
offer support to through to March 2024.

“Numerous local organisations and artists have been able to develop their
talents through the support of our previous arts grant scheme. Community groups
can embrace the chance through art projects and events to build friendships,
reduce isolation and promote integration. Our vibrant economy truly does
benefit from such funded creative arts projects across the Lisburn &
Castlereagh area. So why not apply today?” concluded Councillor McIntyre.
