Lantern Parade Workshops
October 11, 2024
Today, Carr Primary School held its Twilight Lantern Parade workshop as part of our Twilight Night preparations for 24 October; attended by the Chair of Communities and Wellbeing, Councillor Jonathan Craig.
Guided by local professional artists, participants had the opportunity to design and craft their own lanterns using willow structures to express their own unique creativity. This hands-on experience was not only educational but also a fun way for children to prepare for the upcoming Twilight Night event.
Twilight Night itself will be a magical evening as the lantern parade makes its way from Bow Street Mall through the city centre to our beautiful Victorian Wallace Park that will be filled with enchanting displays, live performances complemented by an artisan food village, culminating in a spectacular fireworks and laser display.
Held annually, this event draws in crowds from across the council area, offering the perfect opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the season in a safe, family-friendly environment.
Cllr Craig commented: “It was great to see the preparations for this Twilight Night taking place across the community and feel the excitement from the pupils involved. It’s clear this event brings joy to everyone involved and strengthens community bonds. I’m very much looking forward to a great evening of creative and artistic fun.”
