LCCC receives a healthy Silver Investor in People Assessment

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is delighted to be the first Northern Ireland council to receive the coveted Investors in People (IiP) Health and Wellbeing Award – achieved alongside its IiP Silver accreditation.
These two accolades reflect the Council’s commitment to achieving the best from its people.
Mayor, Councillor Alan Givan, commenting on the awards, said: “This is a proud moment for the council and a positive reinforcement of what we already knew – our employees are the engine of the council and getting the best from them is how we support the development of our community, making the area a great place to live, work and visit.”
David Burns, Chief Executive added: “This is a fantastic achievement for the council – the perfect recognition for our brilliant and hardworking team. The council is on a journey of transformation, making sure the community gets the best we can deliver and being recognised as supporting, developing and caring for our staff wellbeing in the midst of such an important and comprehensive change programme is reflective of the attitude and commitment of “Team Lisburn Castlereagh”!
While this is a positive step on our journey, we cannot rest on our laurels and we will continue to use our positive people practices to further develop our high performing and innovative council”.
Eddie Salmon, IiP Assessor added: “Combining Investors in People Silver accreditation with becoming the first council in Northern Ireland to gain the health and wellbeing award is a fantastic achievement and a real credit to the commitment of the Council to create a positive, innovative working environment where people feel supported,developed and motivated to perform at the highest standard.”
Alderman Paul Porter, Vice-Chair of the council’s Corporate Services Committee, concluded: “All our staff work hard to meet our corporate objectives and we are delighted that these awards publicly acknowledge their efforts. Our commitment to addressing the importance of health and wellbeing in the workplace has secured this first Northern Ireland award to a council recognising the opportunities within our People and Health and Wellbeing Strategies and associated Action Plans.
“By dedicating time and resources to care for our staff we remain able to deliver top class services across Lisburn Castlereagh. On behalf of all elected members I wish to convey my congratulations to the Chief Executive and council employees for their part in securing these two IiP awards.”
